Copyrights

Copyrights are a form of intellectual property granting to the author of an original work exclusive rights associated with that original work for a limited period of time. The original work must be substantive, discrete and fixed. The granted exclusive rights generally include its publication, distribution and adaptation. Some jurisdictions also recognize “moral rights” such as the right to be credited for the original work. Certain legal rights become applicable once the original work is created. Other legal rights may become applicable once the original work is registered with an applicable government.
